Computerized Engraving, Awards, Model Railroad Control Panels and more...
Two main types of engraving material are recommended for engraved control panels, textures and reverse engraved materials.
Textures have a fine, pebble grained front surface that is very suitable for fine engraving detail and are not susceptible to scratching and fingerprints.  It is a commonly used material and is available in both 1/16“ and 1/8” thicknesses.
Reverse Engraved Materials are engraved from the back of the material,  They have a clear front surface (plexiglass like) that gives the panel a smooth surface that has no engraved lines to collect dirt or oil.  Reverse engraved panels can be painted from the back of the panel to allow track lines to be color coded. Reverse engraved materials are available in both 1/16“ and 1/8” thicknesses.
Other engraving materials are also available but are not recommended because of acceptability to scratching and marking when handling.  Sublimated metal panels are also available for special applications.
